The oh so glamorous lifestyle blogger booming with people wanting to become an influencer. And I can’t help but wonder what it takes to become someone that gets paid to mention companies, write a blog post about a product, or even link the clothes they are wearing and get paid per click and for purchases. Who wouldn’t want to make a passive income as a side hustle or as a full time gig? I have studied the habits of some of my very favorite bloggers, and compiled a list of things to do, to build a killer social media presence. This post was adapted from a Forbes article Seven Tips To Get More Social Media Followers
Be Authentic Do you. This is the very most important tip, in my opinion. It is easy to start comparing yourself to others, so before you put yourself, your craft, your style, your heart and soul out onto the Internet, be secure in who you are and what you are about. People will try to change you, judge you, and make you defend yourself. If you know who YOU are, then it will be much easier to stay on track with who YOU want to be Build Your Brand The very best way to get noticed, is to build up your personal brand. Which is how the world will see you. It is important to define your brand before moving forward, because without a clear understanding; it’ll be hard to gain a following. Stay Active It is super important to consistently create blog posts and share on social media. It’s hard to trust someone, if the only time they share something on their blog or social media is when they want to sell something. It is easy to avoid this by sharing content other than your own that is interesting to you and what you think your audience would enjoy as well. #Hashtag The basic principle of using a hashtag is to be smart in how you use them. With Instagram constantly changing up their algorithms, some may tell you to put them in your caption, and some may tell you to put them in the first comment. Test it out to see how much engagement you get. Also, use searchable and relevant hashtags to the photo you are posting. Do you have a favorite blog? Comment below with some of your favorite bloggers/blogs that you think do an excellent job at creating content. I’m always looking for inspiration and am open to feedback.
